Movies That Will Inspire You To Travel

Assalamualaikum...

I wish one day I can travel all over the world. Yes, that is my dream since I was seven. Nothing looks impossible if we are having high motivation to chase the dream. What does motivates me? First is travelogue book, second is travelogue movies, third is blogger who loves travel. Big thanks to Trekeffect for list all of movies that will inspire me to travel. Will go to the library and downloading the movie as soon as possible =) Below is the movies listed by Trekeffect.

The Motorcycle Diaries is an awe-inspiring dramatization of Che Guevera’s motorcycle road adventure, way before he became a legendary Latin American revolutionary. Not only will this biopic show you how Che became an iconic commander, but it will give you glimpses of a handful of stunning places in South America as well, including Machu Picchu, Nahuel Huapi Lake, Atacama Desert, Patagonia, Venenzuela, Caracas, Buenos Aires and Miramar.

The Way is a heart-warming and beautiful story of a father who walked the Camino de Santiago trail in Spain, to honor his estranged son who recently died while trekking this trail. His experience was eye-opening and quite an emotional one, as he was compelled to make friends with total strangers as well as examine his life during his long 800 kilometer long journey. The film features a pretty eclectic blend of characters, all trekking the long trail for their own personal reasons.

Want to see Leonardo DiCaprio before he had a dadbod? We hate to bust someone’s bubbles, but we’re not talking about Titanic here. For the ladies reading this post, the 2000 adventure film “The Beach” lets you feast your eyes on a shirtless young Leonardo DiCaprio, swimming on the fabulous crystal clear waters of Ko Phi Phi Lee.

A neglected young female and a faded movie actor formed an unlike relationship, after they have crossed paths in the ultra magnetic Tokyo metropolis.

Want to travel solo? Tracks, based on the book written by Robyn Davidson, tells the story of this solo female traveler, as she spends over eight months slugging across Australia’s vast 1,700 mile deserts.

Following the death of their father, three brothers, who haven’t communicated to each other for a year, embark on a train, to travel across India with the intention of bonding with each other and finding themselves. Starring Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson, this travel film also highlights India’s beautiful chaos, culture and colors.

While Into the Wild didn’t have the happiest of endings, it has been anchored firmly in the hearts of countless of travel junkies from all corners of the world. Deemed as one of the best travel films ever, this 2007 motion picture follows the true life story of the brave American adventurer Christopher McCandless, who abandoned his stereotyped life after his graduation, ventured across North America, and hiked into the great Alaskan Wilderness. Free from the society’s strictures, McCandless went on a colorful journey of self discovery, while traversing some of America’s most gorgeous landscapes.

Epitomizing the feeling of spontaneity, freedom and adventure that comes with backpacking and traveling, Into the Wild is truly a timeless classic and a go-to film for travelers. Trust me, McCandless’s adventurous spirit will inspire curiosity as well as the desire to discover what is beyond your comfort zone and boundaries.

Lovely, cute, inappropriate and hilarious, Little Miss Sunshine tells the story of a dysfunctional family that went on an unusually blissful and funny road trip to California, to fulfill the dream of their sweet little girl.

The Bucket List is a tearjerker, and more importantly, a heart-warming film that will inspire you to do all the things that you want to do before you kick the bucket, including traveling. To me, the film also reminds us that life is too short, and we should enjoy it to the fullest.

Sometimes, you just need to spend a day in a heavenly place like Vienna, with a complete stranger, to experience magic, pure bliss and love. Don’t believe us? Just watch Before Sunrise!

The book-turned-movie Eat Pray Love, ever since it was released, has been inspiring people to travel, and seek a life or career outside the big buzzing cities.

There have been plenty of films shot in Paris, but very few can nail it like Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. In my book, there is no other film that illustrate Paris’ splendor in the 1920s better than this film.

The film is, for us, a sweet reminder that life is an awesome adventure, and sometimes we need to be pushed outside of our comfort zones to enrich our life.

Wild is a real-life adventure tale of Cheryl Strayed, an inexperienced backpacker who went on an epic 1,100-mile quest across the United States, in the wake of her mother’s death. Although Strayed’s narrative of her extraordinary odyssey was just released in 2012, it quickly gained the attention of movie producers, thanks to her amazing story of self discovery and bravery. With Stayed’s inspiring travel experiences and the award-winning Reese Witherspoon in the lead role, Wild is surely an absolute must-see flick for film junkies as well as females who are into solo traveling.

Shamelessly romantic, perfectly saccharine and filmed on one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Roman Holiday definitely deserves a spot in this list.

Thanks to Finding Nemo, the Clownfish all of a sudden became the sea’s most popular creature, and everyone wanted to travel to Cairns and Sydney, just to see where Nemo came from. Furthermore, the film encouraged people to explore the beautiful underwater world, and meet the charming creatures of the sea.

With Couples Retreat, not only will you get to see a ridiculously funny flick with awesome comedians and extremely hilarious scenes, but you also get to gaze on the mesmerizing tropical beauty of Bora Bora.

Don’t want to give up your city life? A word of advice, please don’t watch the Under the Tuscan Sun. With all the delightful wines, mouthwatering food, remote cottages and scenic rolling hills shown in the film, this romantic flick will inspire to you to travel to this Italian paradise, as well as urge you to scrap your urban life, for a chance to harvest an awesome dream of living a life Under the Tuscan Sun.

Billed as one of the greatest inspirational movies of all time, Forrest Gump takes you on a gleeful emotional rollercoaster that displays the jaw-dropping scenery of Utah, South Carolina and Georgia. What’s more, the film is an important reminder that being disabled doesn’t have to limit you or define your life.
